Run-Throughs

At Katy High School, our hand-made run through banners are masterfully created every week by the Katy Bengal Brigade & Cheerleaders.

We’re just like you… only prettier.

Few traditions capture the excitement of Katy football like the hand-painted run-throughs. Each week, the Katy Bengal Brigade and Cheerleaders design a brand-new creation for the Tigers to burst through as they take the field. Far from being generic signs, these banners are bold, colorful, and filled with the kind of energy that sets the tone for Friday night lights.

What makes the run-throughs special is the imagination behind them. Students pour hours into sketches and brushstrokes, often adding playful jabs at the week’s opponent. They strike fierce tones or spark laughter, yet they always remind us that Katy football celebrates more than just the game itself. It’s about creativity, pride, and a community rallying behind its team.

And while the paper only lasts a few seconds before it’s torn to shreds by the players charging through, the tradition itself endures. These banners have become a symbol of Tiger pride – part art, part humor, part rallying cry – and a beloved ritual that connects every fan in the stands to the team on the field.
