Honoring Katy’s Champions
In 2013, the Katy Athletic Booster Club hosted a special event called A Night of Champions to honor the seven Katy football teams that had captured state titles up to that point. The evening celebrated not only the players and coaches, but also the community that had stood behind them through years of hard work, discipline, and Friday night triumphs. Out of that celebration came something lasting – the creation of the Tiger in Bronze.
The bronze Tiger statue was commissioned as a permanent tribute to Katy’s proud tradition of excellence. It stands as a symbol of the grit, determination, and unity that define Katy High School athletics. While trophies and banners mark victories, the statue tells a bigger story – one of generations of students, coaches, and fans who have poured their heart into building the Tiger legacy.

Today, the Tiger in Bronze serves as more than just a work of art. It’s a gathering spot, a photo backdrop, and a point of pride for students and alumni alike. For players, it’s a reminder of the tradition they represent every time they put on the uniform. For the community, it’s a visible sign of what can be accomplished when talent, effort, and support come together. The Tiger in Bronze isn’t just a statue – it’s the embodiment of Katy pride.
The sculpture is one of THREE bronze Tigers in the City of Katy – one at the rear entrance to the fieldhouse on campus, one directly across from the high school on Highway 90, and one at Katy Junior High.
