Rhodes Stadium

Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium in Katy, Texas, opened in 1981 and continues to host Katy ISD football and soccer events, honoring decades of local athletic excellence and community pride.

A Tribute to Tradition

Built in 1981, Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium has long served as the beating heart of Katy ISD athletics. Located at 1640 Katyland Drive, this 9,768-seat venue was the district’s flagship stadium for more than three decades before the opening of Legacy Stadium. Even today, it remains a vital part of the Academy Sports + Outdoors Student Activity Complex, hosting varsity football games, soccer matches, and community events that continue to connect generations of Katy families.

Rhodes Stadium reflects the deep roots of football tradition in Katy. Named in honor of former Katy ISD athletic director Jack Rhodes, the stadium has witnessed countless playoff runs, championship seasons, and Friday-night moments that helped define the district’s reputation for excellence. Many longtime residents still refer to it simply as “The Rhodes,” a reminder of the pride and history that surround every game played on its field.

Legacy Stadium

With modern upgrades such as artificial Matrix Turf and a large video scoreboard, the stadium continues to provide a high-quality experience for players and fans alike. While it lacks some of the newer amenities of Legacy Stadium, Rhodes remains known for its electric atmosphere and intimate feel—where the crowd’s roar seems just a little louder and the sense of community even stronger.

For thousands of alumni, athletes, and families, Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium is more than a venue; it’s a landmark of Katy’s championship culture and a tribute to the coaches, students, and supporters who helped build it.
